50 States, 50 Stories continues with The Barron Center in Portland, Maine. The Barron Center offers long-term care services for the elderly and chronically ill. We talked to Suzanne Parkman, Staff Development Coordinator at The Barron Center, to hear about the experience of using Silverchair Learning Systems.
How has Silverchair Learning changed your inservices?
Our staff is so busy. It has been very difficult to get them off the floor. Silverchair Learning allows great flexibility for our staff in learning.
How has Silverchair Learning increased the success of your staff?
We have some computer illiterate staff. However, the ease of using the computer has shown our staff that it is simple and not intimidating to learn with the computer. This has actually boosted their confidence.
How has Silverchair Learning affected the patient experience?
The in-services are knowledgeable and make it easy to learn without the stress of classroom time and timed exams.
How has your experience with Silverchair Learning been overall?
There were some staff members who were skeptical; however, once they completed one session they loved the convenience and ease of use without the pressure of the classroom setting.
